After more than 20 years of raising their family in this home, the owners were ready for a refresh, and the owner’s love of color became the inspiration for the design. Sue Subbotin Interiors transformed the kitchen, eating nook, family room, and staircase, removing walls to create a more open and connected space.
The showstopping high-gloss green kitchen brings energy and personality to the heart of the home. Custom cookbook shelving was tucked beneath the staircase, while a movable island on wheels provides flexible workspace wherever it is needed. A custom dining table, crafted with the same marble as the kitchen countertops, ties the spaces together.
For an owner who loves entertaining and creating signature cocktails, a custom bar was added to the family room to beautifully display her collection of barware. A new custom fireplace mantel replaced the dated brick surround and provides the perfect backdrop for an “origami” artwork created by a friend’s daughter.
The result is a bold, colorful, highly personal space that brings a smile to its owner’s face every time she enters her own little “Cammieland.”
